Happy Labor Day

The reason we work, is not to make money to buy everything we want. Work has to do with our dignity as human people. God created work before the fall and Adam was quite content to have dominion over the earth. Only after the fall did work become strenuous and difficult. Only after the fall did we loose the intimate connection between God, work and us. As you go to your place of employment today, ask yourself how this place can become more a place of the Garden of Eden... before the serpent showed up... How can each of us, at our place of work, help the relationship, make the connections between God, work and us. How can we work together to build up the dignity of every worker? Questions to ponder on this Labor Day.
